Downstairs Sideboard for her

This may be different for many but for us we spent most our time downstairs, for this reason we made sure to have everything we needed for her downstairs as well as upstairs. Many would have sideboards or some sort of storage cupboard or drawers downstairs. We have just this, a sideboard with 3 drawer's and two cupboards, in this we stored many things which she needed frequently. This once again in the first month especially helped us keep her safe by not constantly going up and down to get her things and also for recovering mammy and exhausted daddy it helped us having everything at hand nearby. These are the things we had in the cupboard:

For home use: Obviously some things we used for outdoors

  • Nappies

  • Wipes

  • Spare babygrow's and baby vests and sleepsuits

  • Socks and Anti scratch mittens

  • Muslins and Bibs

  • Nail Cutter, Bobbins (she has a full head of hair was useful when she was a bit older) and hairbands

  • Bottles and utensils

  • Medical Box - Baby Calpol, Baby Neurofen, Thermometer, nasal drops, suppositories,

For Outdoors:

  • Jumpers, Coats and Padded sleepsuits

  • Hats and Blankets

  • Nappy Bag with nappies and wipes and Portable change mat

  • Nappy bag on top of sideboard- see Nappy bag essentials post

  • Shoes after she started using them

  • Car Seat on top of side board

  • Car seat and buggy accessories - Umbrella, Extended Shade, Rain Cover

  • Baby Carrier or Baby Sling

I'm sure you are wondering why not keep Buggy and Car seat in the car. Now, we saved a few bob's here, instead of getting two car seats and bases for both cars we just got one car seat and two bases. Buggy was switched between two cars when he went to work so we decided to keep buggy Accessories in a bag in the house and just brought it depending on which car she was going in.
